Living History
Living history, focusing on the American Revolution, has taught me the importance of clear communication, experimental archaeology, and hands-on learning. My experiences have led me to historic sites up and down the East Coast. As a teenager, I worked as a costumed historical interpreter at Washington Crossing State Park in New Jersey where I shared stories about the "Ten Crucial Days" of the Revolutionary War. At the Museum of the American Revolution, I am part of the team that brings to life General George Washington's wartime field headquarters centered around reproductions of his tents, known as "The First Oval Office Project." I also annually participate in the Museum's "Occupied Philadelphia" event, which focuses on the British Army's occupation of Philadelphia in 1777-1778. My other experiences include interpreting soldier life at Valley Forge National Historical Park and museum film shoots. I am skilled at playing both the fife and drum and am often invited to historic sites to discuss the significance of military music.
